When bodybuilders reach the intermediate and advanced levels of training, they tend to forget the basics, and get carried away by their biased training techniques. If that sounds familiar to you, then this article is for you; remind yourself of the basic tenets on which bodybuilding success is anchored. For the beginners, the article is ideal in identifying, explaining and introducing the same to you, now that you have joined the quest for muscles and strength.
Bodybuilding is all about training and dieting. In training, we use weight exercises to stimulate growth of the muscles by overloading them with a regulated intensity, such that the body is challenged to grow bigger and stronger. All bodybuilding exercises must be performed in their perfect form and technique. A moderately slow and deliberate rep speed is ideal, referred to as the feel speed. This allows you to maintain absolute control over the training weight or the exercise machine.
Warm ups are as important as the main workouts. That is not debatable. The main workout might be the one that stimulates muscle growth, but the warm up is the one that ensures that the muscle tissues aren't injured while performing the main workout, wherewith, the training is made possible through avoiding injuries. It is important that you limit your training session to about 45 minutes and maximum one hour. Any more than this and you will be aiding muscle catabolism. The sessions should be at least two and at most three in a week. That is enough to get you on the fast lane of hypertrophy.
Optimal growth is achieved when the sets are reach absolute muscle failure, though not necessarily. The advantage of performing your sets to failure is that you exhaust the muscles fully. However, the most important here is the training intensity and the exercise form. Whenever the exercise form is maintained at the optimal intensity level, muscles are stimulated to their highest and fastest growth rate. When this is done, and the muscles are totally exhausted and worn out, the next thing to do is to rest. Take not less than a full day rest before you hit the gym again, especially for the particular muscles or muscle group trained during the previous session. The workout sessions must be juxtaposed with rest moments, moments when complete recovery, rejuvenation and healing of injured tissues must be achieved. In fact, some people have slow recovery speeds and need two or even more days to rest.
Get to bed early and don't wake up before eight hours of quality sleep are done. , occasionally you may need 2 days rest. Again, bodybuilding is a precise sport, based on sound planning and goal setting. That is why you must record your progress, in both workout and dieting every day, in a journal or notebook. This helps when you are evaluating weekly and monthly or even yearly consistencies, inconsistencies, gains, failures and so on. Set your goals, give them a time frame, and then ensure that you keep evaluating your progress towards those goals after a while, refocusing if you have lost focus, changing techniques if the gains are not being consolidated and maintaining cause if all is well.
