Public relations in undoubtedly the most underestimated career. Probably no other career seems so apparently glamorous and takes such a toll on you. If you want to go for Marketing in Public Relations get yourself ready for a bumpy ride full of hard work and snobby clients who most of the times take credit for nearly everything you have done. You will be spending most of the time writing articles or organizing social or business events for your clients which will invariably be credited to your client. Make a nice list about your qualifications and experience. Do not waste space about your hobbies and interests which are not related to PR or marketing. Focus on your communication skills and try to get the employers interest on the good and bad of your work experience in your last PR firm. Be much focused when you are asked why do you want to shift course. Gorge on your marketing PR internship and how it has attributed in the way you see marketing in general now.
It does not matter whatever PR why want to see yourself 10 years from now, you must be steady on everything that you get ranging from consumer relations to government marketing or IT or healthcare services. Be focused and get the hint which gets the best out of you.
